Special Moms

In honor of Mother's Day, we wanted to highlight some of our special moms and share with you their outlook on life with a special needs child.

leanneLeanne Kirk has spent over 20 years working with people with disabilities.  She was President of the Halton Down Syndrome Association for close to 4 years, and went on to build and create a learning and resource centre for families and people with Down Syndrome.   She has helped many families, children and adults with Down Syndrome by providing them with the resources, education and information necessary to lead content and fulfilling lives. debbieDebbie takes her son Lennox, 6 1/2, swimming, to the movies, and Canada’s Wonderland regularly. She spends all of her free time with him, and is currently teaching him how to ride a bike. Many parents feel lost and helpless while on long wait lists for a diagnosis, to see a specialist, or for therapy treatments and intervention to begin.
