ABA is the application of behavioural principals to assist an individual in learning. Research has consistently demonstrated that ABA is beneficial in the education of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. ABA can facilitate development in the following skill areas: attention, imitation, receptive language, expressive language, cognition, pre-academic, academic, school readiness, gross motor, fine motor, play, social, toileting, and self-help. ABA is also highly successful in reducing and eliminating negative behaviours such as self-injury or tantrums. |
